Science Meets Art: Grade 6 Innovators Lead the Way in Inter-House Competition

On August 19, 2026, GIIS KL buzzed with inspiration and energy as all students from Grade 6 A, B, and C participated in the Inter-House Competition titled "Science Meets Art: Imagine, Create, Innovate!" This event provided a platform where scientific inquiry seamlessly intersected with artistic expression, AI literacy, and sustainability awareness, encouraging young minds to envision a smarter, greener future.

Designed to foster academic excellence, innovation, and essential modern skills, the competition challenged pairs of students to transform complex scientific concepts into compelling visual narratives. Working in teams of two, the participants drew upon their knowledge of environmental science and futuristic technology to design imaginative posters. Their artwork explored diverse themes, ranging from eco-friendly homes and renewable energy systems to futuristic schools, demonstrating how scientific principles can be applied to real-world challenges.

Following an impressive display of talent in the initial phase, selected teams advanced to Round 2. Here, the student innovators presented their creations to an audience of peers and educators, explaining the underlying science behind their concepts, presenting memorable slogans, and detailing their visions for sustainable progress. This interactive presentation allowed students to sharpen their communication skills while showcasing their commitment to environmental stewardship and technological innovation.

By blending the core values of 9GEMS, specifically Academic Excellence, Innovation and Creativity, and Skill Development, with Sustainable Development Goals including SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 13 (Climate Action), the competition emphasized the importance of holistic learning. The event stood as a powerful reminder that when science sparks imagination and AI meets artistic creativity, young innovators can truly think, create, innovate, and inspire.
